UW-Milwaukee's Desire2Learn (D2L) is hosted at UW-Madison, and is therefore impacted by UW-Madison information technology maintenance schedules on which D2L depends, including an enterprise storage system and internet network connections. Additionally, D2L requires regular software maintenance and upgrades to both enhance and maintain reliable service.
The following schedule will be regularly updated to keep you informed of scheduled maintenance that will affect UWM's access to D2L over the coming semesters.
The entire D2L system will be completely unavailable during the following scheduled maintenance events:
SPRING 2012
- Sunday, February 19 from 5:00 a.m. until noon. (5 hours) - UW-Madison enterprise storage maintenance
- Monday, March 19 from 10:00 p.m. until Tuesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. (12 hours) - D2L software maintenance
SUMMER 2012
- Sunday, June 3 from midnight until 8:00 a.m. (8 hours) - UW-Madison network maintenance
- Monday, June 4 from 10:00 p.m. until Tuesday, June 5 at 10 a.m. (12 hours) - D2L software maintenance
- Sunday, August 19 from 5:00 a.m. until noon. (5 hours) - UW-Madison enterprise storage maintenance
- Tuesday, August 21 from 10:00 p.m. until Wednesday, August 22 at 10 a.m. (12 hours) - D2L software maintenance
- Sunday, August 26 from midnight until 8:00 a.m. (8 hours) - UW-Madison network maintenance
FALL 2012
- Monday, October 15 from 10:00 p.m. until Tuesday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. (12 hours) - D2L software maintenance
In addition, please note:
D2L weekly preventative maintenance
- Thursdays between 5 - 7 a.m. – D2L service may be interrupted
- Saturdays from 2 a.m. - 5 a.m. – users may encounter 500 (Internal Server) Errors
D2L "Online Rooms" tool regular maintenance
- Saturdays beginning at 9 p.m. through Sundays at 1 a.m.
